IILA to Host Free Legal Clinics on Afghan TPS Process

As Afghans who entered the U.S. as humanitarian parolees continue to navigate long wait times in a backlogged asylum application system, IILA is encouraging them to apply for Temporary Protected Status (TPS).  IILA will host two free legal clinics this month in partnership with Loyola Law School to overview the TPS application process, renewing Employment Authorization Documents (EADs), and obtaining fee waivers for applications.  Afghans and those assisting them can join either clinic in-person or online.  For more information about the clinics in Dari and Pashto, see the flyers below.

Background: On March 16, 2022 – “The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) today announced the designation of Afghanistan for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for 18 months.
