Strengthening the health of Ukrainians: the new IILA project will help new arrivals understand the medical system and take care of their health

The International Institute of Los Angeles has started a new program for Ukrainians that will help them understand the medical system in the USA and get the necessary medical services. Ukrainian health promotion program will help Ukrainians in several ways: to understand in detail the features of the American medical system and to understand where and how exactly to turn in different cases, it will help to draw up individual plans for taking care of health and achieve implementation. There will also be special workshops where Ukrainians will receive a lot of practical and useful information.
The program will also help Ukrainians who have difficulties interacting with representatives of the medical system. Clients will be able to take a comprehensive look at their health and do all the necessary preventive and curative things.
The program is extremely important, because the US medical system is fundamentally different from the Ukrainian one. “Medical insurance is poorly developed in Ukraine, and the majority of the population receives medical services for free. In Ukraine, if you want to see a doctor, you can literally do it in 1–2 days. In the USA, we see a completely different situation, and it is really difficult for Ukrainians to understand it. That is why we will help Ukrainians to get navigation in this system”, – said Nataliya Mikhnova, who works with Ukrainians in this program. Nataliya herself is Ukrainian, so she understands the system well in both countries, can compare and show the difference, and accordingly can help clients find optimal solutions in their situation.

Зміцнення здоров’я українців: новий проект IILA допоможе зрозуміти систему медицини та подбати про своє здоров’я
International Institute of Los Angeles розпочав нову програму для українців, яка допоможе зрозуміти медичну систему США та отримати необхідні медичні послуги. Українська програма зміцнення здоров’я допоможе українцям декількома способами: детально розібратися в особливостях американської медичної системи та зрозуміти, куди і як саме звертатися в різних випадках, допоможе скласти індивідуальні плани догляду за здоров’ям і досягти впровадження. Також будуть спеціальні майстер-класи, де українці отримають багато практичної та корисної інформації.
Також програма допоможе українцям, які мають труднощі у взаємодії з представниками медичної системи. Клієнти зможуть комплексно подивитись на стан свого здоров’я та зробити всі необхідні профілактичні та лікувальні заходи.
Програма надзвичайно важлива, оскільки медична система США кардинально відрізняється від української. «В Україні медичне страхування розвинене слабо, більшість населення отримує медичні послуги безкоштовно. В Україні якщо ви хочете звернутися до лікаря, то це можна зробити буквально за 1-2 дні. У США ми бачимо зовсім іншу ситуацію, і українцям справді важко це зрозуміти. Тому ми допоможемо українцям отримати навігацію в цій системі», – зазначила Наталія Міхнова, яка працює з українцями в цій програмі. Наталія сама українка, тому добре розуміє систему обох країн, може порівняти та показати різницю, а відповідно може допомогти клієнтам знайти оптимальні рішення в їх ситуації.
