Susan Eckert joined IILA in 2008 as the Director of Administration. She was responsible for handling employee relations, recruitment, safety, training & development, payroll and benefits for the agency. She received a promotion to Vice President in November 2012, became the Senior Vice President in June 2019 and is currently the Chief Operating Officer.

Susan is a native Californian, has eight siblings, two children and two grandchildren. She attended California State Polytechnic University and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business with an emphasis in Management and Human Resources. She has since earned a PHR (Professional in Human Resource) designation through the Human Resources Certification Institute (HRCI) and a SHRM-CP designation through the Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM). Susan came to IILA with more than two decades of management experience and now has added more than twelve years’ experience working for a nonprofit.
