LOS ANGELES REFGUEE VOLUNTEER COALITION
Help us better serve refugees in LA County! Take action as little or as often as you like.
The Los Angeles Refugee Volunteer Coalition (LA RVC) is a joint effort of the three Los Angeles refugee Resettlement Agencies–International Institute of Los Angeles (IILA), Interfaith Refugee & Immigrant Service (IRIS), and International Rescue Committee (IRC). The goal of the RVC is to maximize resources for refugee clients in LA County by collaboratively organizing volunteer and in-kind donor engagement across agencies. By working together, we can better ensure that clients receive assistance in a timely way from those who are most immediately able to respond from the community.
LA RVC membership involves:
- completing the sign-up form below,
- receiving occasional emails (weekly or less) that highlight needs and share other opportunities/announcements,
- having access to the agency needs Trello Board for coordinating community responses (in progress), and
- being invited to monthly Community Information Sessions (about resettlement, the role of resettlement agencies, and ways to get involved).
Community Information Sessions are open to everyone interested in learning more about refugee resettlement in general or the current state of resettlement in Los Angeles. You do not need to be an RVC member to participate and you can join more than once. Sessions are held every second Wednesday of the month, from 5 to 6pm on Zoom. Please click here to register so we know to expect you.
For questions about the RVC or Community Information Sessions, please contact Marisa Moonilal Montes, IILA Director of Community Engagement, at mmoonilal@iilosangeles.org or 818-660-0403.
