Child Nutrition Division
The IILA Child Nutrition Division administers two separate long time contracts with the California Department of Education to assist independent centers and day care home providers with specialized services in the nutrition field.
Every year the IILA Child Nutrition Center Program prepares in its Kitchen Commissary near Downtown Los Angeles nearly 2 million fresh breakfasts, lunches, snacks, and dinners for delivery to approximately 2,800 children enrolled in various childcare programs throughout Los Angeles County. The program assists 53 independent centers that other wise might not have prepared nutritious meals to serve to the children in their care. The meals make available to the enrolled children the nutrition they need to thrive and succeed in school, and to lead healthy lives.

The IILA Child Nutrition Homes Program sponsors, advises, trains and monitors 1000 in-home childcare providers to ensure that the approximately 6,500 children in these homes receive nutritious and varied meals. This part of the program also provides a partial reimbursement for some of the food costs to these in-home childcare providers.
