Immigration and Legal Services

Immigration and Legal Services resolve barriers to family reunification and enable full participation of immigrants in American society. Established in 1914, International Institute is the oldest nonprofit immigration services provider in Los Angeles.

We provide a variety of immigration services through our offices in East Los Angeles, El Monte, and Van Nuys. Services include preparation for naturalization, adjustment of status, visa processing, political asylum, assistance for violence against women, and family reunification assistance. Our staff includes two immigration lawyers, a BIA accredited representative, and two trained immigration counselors. Low cost legal assistance and court representation is available for asylum cases, cancellation of removal cases, adjustment of status, NACARA, change of venues and voluntary departures, and other immigration legal issues.
